What is 9 Weeks of Glory?

Two weeks ago during an open meeting on Saturday night, we experienced a sovereign manifestation of the presence of God. The room exploded with high praise and I stood in stunned silence and awe of His glory. I have not experienced His manifest presence like that in at least ten years. Since that time many among us who were present, but also those who were not, have been experiencing an extraordinary awareness of His presence corporately and personally. I don’t know how else to explain it. When God speaks, His word demands a response. When the King enters the room, His royalty demands a response.

And often the response we are compelled to give is beyond our comfort zone. This is that time. We have a high value for God’s Word and His Spirit. We have a high value for His presence. We also have a high value for deep connection in the Church. We are family. I know that Holy Spirit lives inside those who call Jesus as Lord, but He also moves within space and time. I believe in this space and at this time God wants to meet you face to face in an extraordinary way. This is the time we must respond.

It is with a weighty sense of responsibility and awe of His presence we shift the way we approach Him corporately. We are moving from two services to one beginning July 1 and will continue to do so for nine weeks. Let me tell you what this is not: This is not “summer hours”. We are not backing down. We are not taking a break. We are passionately pursuing the presence of God as one. We are combining our 9 AM community and 11 AM community to walk toward His face as one for nine weeks. Our prayer room will open at 8:45 AM each Sunday and we invite you to come and stoke the fire of His presence with us. We will launch into corporate worship each Sunday at 10 AM.

We will continue to love each other well, serve each other well and minister to our kids, this current generation of revivalists. We invite you to step into new life in this fresh season as we celebrate with water baptism. We will do all these things with excellence because His presence is excellent! Nine weeks. Nine weeks of ardently pursuing God’s manifest presence and glory as one community. He is the target. We will not miss. This is what we were created for. You were made for this! You belong. Come with expectation for what God will do in these Nine Weeks of Glory.

Mark 4

Jesus taught in parables by the water. This season of his life and ministry was marked by both growing hostility toward him, and the consistent adulation for Him. The crowds that came were likely populated by some who wanted to ensnare Him and those who wanted to witness the wonders of which they heard. Rather than “preach to the choir” Jesus chose to speak in parables. Why? “He...

I am not a fan of long blog posts, but some things just require a bit of space to process. We have been in the month Elul. Now, I don't claim to be a Hebrew scholar by any stretch of the imagination, but I do believe it is critically important to pay attention to important traditions in Jewish culture. Connecting with the Jewish people has been in the heart of the Father from the inception of...

God has always been in the business of separating light from darkness!

I have read this passage more times than I can count. Last week I read this passage again several times leading up to our Good Friday gathering at The Bridge Metrowest. Four fresh thoughts popped in my head as I read the story of the cross again! Here is the first of four:

Luke 23:44-49 (The Passion...
